Ring, The

The Ring (2002)

A journalist investigates a mysterious tape that kills anyone within a week of watching it.
Decent remake that is well acted and stylishly directed. Though the story is still great, in trying to explain everything it adds far too much unnecessary backstory. The atmosphere is suitably creepy but it doesn't have the power of the original, and unfortunately the original's terrifying ending is botched.
