Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994)Dir: Kenneth Branagh
A young doctor obsessed with bringing the dead back to life creates a hideous monster.
An overblown epic that suffers from indulgent filmmaking and weak acting. The classic story is almost lost in the translation from book to screen due to the heavy handed directing. It captures the feel of the period and there are some good moments, but ultimately it's a disappointing adaptation.
